Dear Friend of Hearts & Hooves,
November 15, 2008
is slated for the 8th Annual Hearts & Hooves’ Hoedown. We are excited
to announce that Lee Hatcher and Martha Ellen Erwin have agreed to co-chair this
year’s social event. They have already amassed an impressive lineup of community
volunteers to create what is lining up to be another record breaking year! If
you would like to be involved with an event that has a direct impact of the
participants it serves, please sign up today by contacting us at the
barn (501-834-8509) or by email (volunteer@heartsandhooves.com). We’d love to
have you on our team!
The 2007 Hoedown
was held on November 4 and was chaired by Nancy Horne, an outstanding community
volunteer. Through her leadership, the program has $82,440 in the bank at the
time of release of this newsletter with pledges to raise it even higher! The
Hoedown provides over 30% of our budgeted income. Since riders fees only cover
approximately one third of actual costs, one can easily see how important this
event is to the success of the program. Thanks to Nancy and her committee’s hard
work, the 2007 Hoedown will help fund our riders for another year.
The 2007 Hearts & Hooves’ Hoedown proved to be yet another success. Old friends
like the Heritage Company returned to show their support of the program, not
only by being our Platinum Sponsor but with their presence as well. New friends
came to learn what Hearts & Hooves is all about. Over 700 tickets were sold for
the event with an estimated actual crowd of 600. To see so much community support
for a program as young as Hearts & Hooves is humbling, to say the least!
A note from our Chairman of the Board, Craig O’Neill: Thank you for
visiting our website. We hope you will decide to participate in this year’s
Hearts & Hooves Hoedown. Your support can make a difference in the life
of a rider!
